# Channels

> Talk to your Eigi on WhatsApp, Slack, Instagram, and Telegram

## Overview

Channels connect your Eigi to the messaging apps you already use. Once a channel is linked, you can message Eigi there like you'd message a person — and it's the same Eigi, with the same memory and tools, as in the dashboard.

    Link your WhatsApp and chat with Eigi in your DMs — voice notes included.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Slack" icon="slack">
    Add Eigi to your workspace and talk to it in channels or DMs.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Instagram" icon="instagram">
    Connect your Instagram account so Eigi can chat over Instagram DMs.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Telegram" icon="telegram">

## How It Works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Channels">
    Go to the **Channels** section of your Eigi dashboard.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect a platform">
    Each card walks you through its own linking flow — for example, WhatsApp
    uses a QR code you scan from your phone.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start chatting">
    Message Eigi on that platform. Replies, files, images, and voice work just
    like a normal conversation.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The channel cards always show real connection status, so you can see at a glance whether a platform is live.

## What Eigi Can Do on Channels

* **Answer and act** — everything Eigi can do in the dashboard (research, files, connected apps), it can do from a chat message.
* **Acknowledge instantly** — Eigi reacts to your message (👀) the moment it starts working, then marks it done (✅) or failed (❌).
* **Voice messages** — send a voice note and Eigi understands it; it can reply with audio too.
* **Proactive messages** — automations and reminders can deliver their results straight to your channel of choice.

## Groups

Eigi can also sit in group chats — with controls so it doesn't take over:

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Mention gate" icon="at">
    In groups, Eigi only responds when mentioned, so it stays quiet unless
    called on. You can change this per group.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Sender awareness" icon="users">
    In shared group sessions, Eigi knows who said what, so it can address
    people correctly.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Group summaries" icon="list">
    Opt a group in, and Eigi can keep a daily digest of the conversation and
    deliver a summary on schedule.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

<Note>
  You can disconnect or unlink any channel at any time from the same Channels
  page. Session behavior for groups (shared vs. per-person) is configurable in
  settings.
